Agility video of me, yes, I still do agility

Ten years old and still running strong,.  Been a long time since I wrote…. I should better, but being ten, I get lazy….  Life here gets too easy sometimes!!!!!!

Anyways, I still run agility and here is the latest event I was in,, February 9-10, 2013, in San Marcos, Texas, USDAA, and I should say, I did very well, impressively well.  For starters, I did the table, TWICE, once each day and that finally made it so I, along with help from mum who I am suppose to stay with at  all times…………..I got my P1 standard title.  Yes, it has taken years!

I had a very good snooker P3 run with mum too…an obsessive game, mum is good at and if I stay with her, we have a fair to good chance to get through the course.   She calls out the obstacles by color and number.  She is obsessive and there is no leaving to chance her getting lost, so this odd method of her works fine with her and me as well……red, color, red, color and so on.

Somewhere along the route, I messed up on a red obstacle so mum has to quick think to lead me to another red obstacle she did not plan on doing, and finish up with a color……fast thinking she does and you can hear the crowd cheering us on.  We did it, all those reds as we were supposed to.  On to finish the sequence obstacles, number 2 to  7.  We ran out of time but the crowd cheered us on and since we managed to get enough points in the red, color part of the game,  we Q [qualified] and got a 1st place.

I told you it was a good weekend….ps, the kid did not earn any of these ribbons!!!

kaley corgi kisses!!!  yes, I really should do more  of this blogging…or how are you going to get any pup shares from me????

Sunday agility…the fun of running even if not a single Q

Yes, the second day of agility and I am totally warmed up.   I run  as any pup can possibly run, with gusto, but this weekend, mum thought I was a bit all over the ring….. and on my own and not totally a side by side team mate as she hoped I would be.   What can I say?  I got a mind of my own!!!

This is the T2B run….I gotta run fast and beat everyone’s time, that is in the same  height as me.  Quite frankly, that is easy to do as long as I run clean and under a minute.  I tend to be the only 8 inch tall dog running!!!  However, when I run, anything goes and  mum did not even keep an eye on me, so start line stay was missing and I ran off and back jumped over the first jump.   At this point, mum is  relaxed and just running the course with me to finish.

This is the standard run and just as any other run, anything goes, but  I have great consistency of not doing the table on the first call, and in this run, I really exceeded the patience of the judge………poor mum,  she did not get to show she had even the minute control over me in the ring, and we, got  voted out of the ring.  You can see, I stood still after a bit and  thought,  “if you say table, I will get on it now.”

This is the JWW run, which is jumps and the weaves.  I love jumps and I am better at the weaves, but I still have trouble  landing them head on as you can see!!!

Okay, so now you have it all, providing you read yesterdays post of my first set of four runs. I run, I have fun, and I hardly get a Q, but it is all fun and that is what is important!!!

kaley corgi kisses !!!   running in agility again, mid december, stay tune for more silly kc run run run vids…that is what I do!!!

Agility..AKC..kaley corgi zoomie queen

Yes, I will never give it up and  quite frankly, why should i?  I started as a kaley corgi zoomie queen, and I do it well, so I just my as well, keep up the good work!

Last weekend was a two day trial for mum and me.  She has been getting her act together and getting the premium in early so we  get the days we  sign up for.  We like to do Saturday and Sunday.  We like AKC because the runs are easy to understand…jumpers, standard, fast and time to beat, which means just run fast and do things right!I

I had good start line stays all weekend, but avoided the table twice, when she said, “table!”.  However, being such a good team player, I did get on it, after I had a momentarily kc zoomie run.

First run of the weekend I was certainly all ready to GO…in more ways than one.  I not only had the longest run in the ring, when this  T2B (time to beat) was to be the fastest dog to get in and out of the ring, doing all the obstacles.  I  not only stayed in the ring  the longest, and not doing all the obstacles,  I had to GO….poop!  Good thing mum is always prepared with a poop bag hanging off my leash.  Sometimes she has several and the judge would tell her, it looks like a toy, so too many hanging bags might disqualify us.

Turns out, even though the weekend was full of  my  zoomie runs, mum had lots of fun running with me.  It was long ago, I would not even wait for the run to start and  I would take off in the ring, free running.  Mum would stand  in the ring, calling my name, to my  ignorement…[is that a word} ???  My start line stays are  95 % and I not only follow mum,  mum  does not get so lost in the ring since she learned calling out the obstacle numbers helps her stay in order!!!!!!!   Yes, if anyone is to have fun in the ring, I am…. but mum has lots of fun too!!!

good

Stay tuned for  agility on Thanksgiving weekend, two days, AKC style…

ps, oddly, our very last run,  standard…we  did get a  1st place Q.  It was such an odd run,  since I not only avoided the table on the first call, I popped out of the weaves because I lost concentration when there was a speaker announcement.   Mum found out, we  Q the day after and it was learned,  the judge was trying to figure out if she called us on an error or not, and since not sure, she let it go…..so we got a freebie Q….

kaley corgi kisses !!!   10 years old and agility is still fun!!!

AKC Sunday….Mums happy with her birthday gift from me

Back to agility now and then and  still a great running dog.  Yes, at 10 years old, I can still run like the rest of them!  One day trial, three runs and  it was a birthday weekend for mum.  She had secret hopes for us to quality in at least one run for the weekend.  It has been a long time since we actually qualified  for real.  Real means, to get a ribbon for an actual qualify to slowly move up to higher level.

I had three great start line stays… a big thing for me, since I  like to shoot the gun, cuz I know what is all about…..running and jumping and I am not into just  sittin around waiting!

First run of the day was JWW,  jumpers with weaves and  I am in Excellent, because I love to run and jump.  Mum is good at telling me where to go now, so I just  follow and watch her hand.  I have to be perfect and I did over shoot one jump, and had to come back and do it.   No qualify, but it sure was fun to run.  [144 yrds, and we are allowed, 49 seconds and  we were on the field for, 53.16  with 1 refusal….if I had not ran past the jump, possibly we could have  qualified]

Second run was Standard, which means I have to do  all the  obstacles,  and that means the  table.  Table now means, I only have to get on and stay on.  Such a boring obstacle, cuz it means, I have to stop!  Why stop?  She says “Table,” and I  did a few seconds of kc famous zoomies.   I did return and  stay on the table for the five count and  continued to be the perfect agility pup, but  we did not  qualify.  It sure was fun to entertain and mum was happy she eventually regained…..control.  We were allowed, 76 seconds on the field and I used, 81.51…[155 yrds] …6 wrong ways and 1 refusal]

Third and last run is  T2B [time to beat]…..   New game for us and  mum was just hoping I would end up with some points,  and  hope for a perfect run.  Speed is great, but   it has to be  a  perfect run.  I was slow on the weaves but perfect and we got  first place and ten points.  Funny thing is,  I was the only dog in preferred, so  as long as I finished the run, I was  bound to get first!!!!!!!!!!!

kaley corgi kisses!!!!!!  ….next agility is two days,  in two weeks…7 runs………….that should be lots of fun for mum and  i…stay tuned

I am a winner….agility style

I had a great agility weekend, NADAC style, in Hockley, Texas.  I ran both Saturday and Sunday and mommy and me were great in 5 of 8 rums.  We Q[ualified] with all first places.  I am the only 8 inch dog running so naturally if I win, I am  first place!

Papa took vids of 7 of the runs, but mum accidentally deleted a few of them and on on run, I finished before papa knew I was even in the ring!!!

Enjoy the fun vids of mum and me, running and having fun.  I have better start line stays and stay with mum.

I took off to the wrong obstacle and mum did not follow me, but asked me to come back down…the dog walk.  I got a first place because I finished the course, but I did not get a  Q score.  It was still fun running this course.

This is a game, where I take a contact obstacle, which is the Touch, and then I go, go off to another obstacle.  I got a first place, Q.  I ran this in 52.44 seconds and was allowed, 62.03.  I ran 3.20 yards per second.

I love to jump, it is my best thing to do and fast!  I ran this  in 22.33 seconds and was allowed 31.36 seconds.  I ran 4.39 yards per second….for me, this is fast.

I love tunnels.  I ran the course in 33.25 seconds and was allowed, 34.50.  I ran 3.46 yards per second.

This was my first Q[ualify] for the weekend, and of course, it is jumpers!  I ran it in 25.17 seconds and I was allowed, 31.36.  I ran 3.89 yards per second.

Kaley corgi kisses!!!  mum laughs when she sees the vids, cuz she thinks she looks silly, calling out the numbers.  She does this because she gets lost in the ring.   I get frustrated if mum stops running and sometimes I will do a  free Kaley corgi zoomie!  I just want to have fun and run!!!

I was not the zoomie queen this weekend, I gave mom a break.
