Book review — a must read book! — The Art of Racing In The Rain

I am sure everyone needs a good book now and then and this one should certainly make that list. This review comes from a good friend of mine, a dog lover like me, so of course, I am going to read this book very soon. Granted I am number 29 on the local library list to borrow this book, so it might take some time. Hope not everyone keeps the book out for 3 weeks!

Christine has promised to lend me the book, but she is going to lend it to a co-worker first — i hope there aren’t 29 of them.

Have you ever wondered what dogs really think? Wonder no more! Read this poignant book written from a dog’s (Enzo’s) point of view. On the eve of his death, Enzo looks back on his family’s life from his point of view. At times both sad and uplifting, Enzo shares insights on such things as:

1) He believes dogs come back as humans in their next life

2) He wishes he had thumbs and a better tongue (one that is not so floppy) that would allow him to talk

3) Humans should learn to listen better

4) His favorite actor is Steve McQueen

5) Never accept food from someone you don’t trust

6) He thinks dogs are more closely related to humans than monkeys (I tend to agree…..)

Be forewarned, this book is a definite tear-jerker but well worth the kleenex expense! A must read for any dog lover, “race” on over to your book store or library and read this book.
