Okay, here is the story…not really creative writing, nothing terribly creative here, just how I remember it happening.
The other night, as usual, the baby gate was up, blocking, basically baby and dog, from exiting the house —– we never really worry about outsiders walking in (animal or human). The gate does fit snug, but me, being sorta being trusting and lazy, I pop it into the door frame and there is a gap —-gap enough for a dog, kaley corgi to slip out easily, and with no bell on the gate now, I hear nothing, unless she is clumsy and the entire gate falls to the floor.

hmm, nice day, hmm, gate ajar, hmm, i could just jump over ——hmmm, hmmm, hmmmm

ooo never mind, dad is back! —– darn, i took too long! darn!
I never heard her leave, for her, “i just go out for a bit, be back later, do not worry mum,” walk. NO, she is not allowed free run around the neighborhood! There are cars, and who knows, maybe someone will steal her someday……???? not sure who wants a corgi with attitude, but she is cute!

kaley corgi told me it was okay —– she says, she is the lady of the house!
I think it was about, a few minutes later, maybe 15…..i hear kaley~corgi bark, and i see her at the door way, inside the door way….so I figured it was her, doing her, security job ——– barking if someone comes to the door.
Dan goes to the door way, gate still blocking the entrance, from anyone larger than corgi width to exit, and I hear him talking to someone. It was not until the lady left that I had learned she was, reprimanding Dan for allowing our dog to run free.
Evidently Kaley must have walked up to someone, and thinking her lost, called the numbers on her tag, the first number (Dan’s old cell #) was not in service and then when calling me, I did not hear the phone. So I guess that person called the police, and somewhere along the brief scenario, ‘the lady,’ came into the picture.
I think by this time, Kaley was not feeling too comfortable —– maybe it was not the petting she was thinking she was to receive, from all the strangers she meets on her walks —– or they had an air of tension about them. I think I heard they thought her hurt, for she would not go home, or maybe they thought she was hurt for she dropped to her back, belly up! Deal is, if this was so, it was her way to say, “hey, human, i trust you, come and pet me, i am all yours.”
Well getting dark, ‘the lady’ never left her side…. maybe telling her to go home. Kaley corgi does not know that command, but I think being uncomfortable with ‘the lady’ following her, she did walk home, and slipped back through the partially opened baby gate, and continued to bark in her entrance.
I being most often at the computer for hours, never knew she left or returned, and Dan thought the same, thinking she was walking to the door from inside the house. However thinking later about it, he thought, odd, she was coming from the direction of the doorway, when he was in the back end of the house.
Hmm, Kaley~corgi slipped this escapade by us this time! Never trust a corgi!
She is better on recall, coming to me from out of no where or where she should not be, if I call out, “Kaley come,” but she is not totally trustworthy to not, ‘slip out.’

Jake says — are you sure mum says it is okay for you to go out alone??? she has the gate tight today! —————-Kaley corgi says ——just use your opposable thumb and pull, pull hard…..!

sneaking out again, kaley corgi?????????
How many times have i been outsmarted by kaley~corgi? Too many times!
smiles : )

Kaley I sure wish you would quit disappearing on your Mum!
I grow more gray hairs cause I worry about you when you are lost!
Your poor Mum must have been worried too when you disappear?
Glad you were found!
Of course Mum & Da should have thought to look for you where you can get some more food! Corgi dogs love human food.
Rascal has eaten tuna before. He likes it – did you?
Got your bell on your collar again? Better get Mum to get it back on.
And stay home!
cat & rascal oo & xx
oh yes, the bell, i have to find a key ring to get it back on her again! —- it was so dark the other night and i stood there and knew i would not hear a bell —i watched for movement.
i am glad she is home…ugh, cannot believe a man came out, and gave her some tuna souffle!!!!!!! She eats special meal, and her mum and dad worry!!!!!!!!!!!!!
