Animal abuse/cruelty —it still happens even to our own pets

Had to share this news story that was shared to me today, via my  Dogster, club corgi group.  It is a very sad one indeed,  and even if it can not help the poor  13 year old lab/mix, it hopefully will spread the word out that  animal cruelty still happens even to our own pets.

I want to spread the word to let  everyone know how wrong it is — to let an animal suffer needlessly.

molly

Molly, a 13 year old lab/mix

Molly the dog was 13 years old and thought to have cancer.  It was also found that Molly suffered from chronic skin disease and a long time lack of nutrition and chronic starvation.  75 year old, Hyrum Long and his 49 year old daughter Susan Johnson took it to their own ways to put her out of her misery as he claimed—-  hitting the dog on the head with a hammer and burying it, with it’s head out of the ground.   The dog was not dead and neighbors heard the dog’s  yelping.

The dog was in so much pain, not being able to even hold it’s neck up, but  her eyes were able to follow the people in the room.

At this point, the only thing that could be done was to euthanize the dog.

Long has been charged with aggravated animal abuse, first degree, and Johnson charged with animal neglect, first degree.  Nothing can bring back Molly or ease

the pain she endured, but more awareness hopefully will help.

so today, by chance, i was on the SPCA site…and for fun you can take the pets and presidents quiz…and put your support towards putting an end to animal cruelty and abuse.

Remember,  education and getting the word out is sometimes the best way of attacking and educating the problems that are in existence.

I even found the site for other pet/animal abuse stories, some open and some with allege participants.  See the link below.

Sansan kisses  : )  but very very sad smiles that animal abuse/cruelty goes on so often.
