It is Friday, and a bit late to let you know…It’s take your Dog to work Day, if you forgot and you are already at work……… but in 1999, Pet Sitters International started a ….Take Your Dog to Work Day. Gee, how nice it is  now a yearly event… to show the world, how great company a pup is, even at the work place!

For those of you who know of my mum and dad…they both work at home! …hehehehe, how nice and with such a small apartment, we are…..very close… I always know where mum is and dad!

this is take your mum to work day…i have a blog, sansanpups, and i pawtype…mum is reading my rough draft!

mum always gets the final say….she is editing my post!

You can always find me very close to one of them…on their lap, by their chair or the couch that is just a few feet away!

hehe, sometimes the lap is not big enough…so we all gather on the couch! …..the kid [jake] is 22 months old- june 2009] (Note product placement for Macs — Steve Jobs send the check to me)

What’s really interesting is that according to the American Pets Products Association, one-fifth of employers nationwide allow pets in the workplace! In this same survey conducted in 2006 –the following was uncovered:

  • 55 million Americans believe having pets in the workplace leads to a more creative environment.
  • 53 million believe having pets in the workplace decreases absenteeism.
  • 50 million believe having pets in the workplace helps co-workers get along better.
  • 38 million believe having pets in the workplace creates a more productive environment, and
  • 46 million people who bring their pets to the workplace work longer hours.

Here are a few things one should consider if they are planning to taking their dog to work today or any day for that matter….

1… Do an office check —check to see if any co-workers are dog allergic or afraid of dogs.

2… Puppy-proof your work space….remove anything that will be dangerous, poison plants, electrical wires, markers, pens…think of a dog in the office as a toddler..be safe!

IMG_0406

all this good stuff…..all this good stuff….maybe you do not have to hide everything….but at least be aware, what your pup might find interesting….and possibly be dangerous or destroy….. [jake—17 mo old]

3…Prepare your dog for the day, with fave toy, treats, leash, bed and whatever you know your pup will need or will make him comfortable being in a new situation/environment.

Sounds like everything is prepared, right?  Well, just in case something goes wrong…and one knows anything can….pup gets totally out of hand, emergency meeting and you have to leave for a few hours………….. have a way to have your pup be taken cared of….an alternate plan….and that does not mean putting the dog in the car!

Make this a fun day, for pup, you and even co-workers and maybe at your company, it will not just be a special event one day of the year!

I know that in this household, it is take your dog to work everyday…..and take baby to work everyday too….but it is nice if i got the lap..ONLY!

One lap, one me!…I should get the lap!

IMG_1064

obviously, i am very accommodating!  Dad let’s me be on his lap, and i let kid jake be on my back!

Love the take your dog to work everyday idea…..just think, of all the money to be saved from us not having to  go to doggie daycare, or  getting bored at home and possibly getting into the garbage or refrigerator or….your non puppy proof bedroom…..and from you having to work overtime and feeling so bad when you walk in the door, and us pup give you the sad eyed look that dinner is late…..for us…………..hehehee

kaley corgi kisses  : ) — well if you did not bring pup to work today, rush home early today to take us out for an extra long walk.
