Taco Bell dog dies at age 15

Gidget, the Chihuahua known for being seen in the Taco Bell commercials for the tagline, “yo quiero Taco Bell died at 15 years of a stroke.

“She made so many people happy,” says Gidget’s trainer, Sue Chipperton. PEOPLE met both Gidget and Sue at a Hollywood animals photo shoot in February, where the pup was a consummate pro and delighted the crew with her playful nature. When she’s on a set, she comes alive. One time, I kid you not, she actually pushed her stand-in out of the way because he was still there when she arrived on set,” Chipperton recalled with a laugh. “Gidget always knew where the camera was.”

Gidget was famous for her time with Taco Bell, but appeared in a commercial for the 90’s version of Trivial Pursuit and appeared on Legally Blonde 2.

One thing for sure, hearing the line, “Yo Quiero Taco Bell,” will always bring up the vision of one cute lil Chihuahua….named Gidget. By the way…Yo Quiero means…i want…..and where ever Gidget is now, i sure hope there is a Taco Bell near by!
